Business Pain Points

Business Pain Points
Business Pain Points

Do you know your pain points in general practice?

Not knowing your pain points may mean a long and stressful existence, as you plough through the days trying to maintain a level of sustainability.

When you could maybe accept and manoeuvre through the pain points and address the situation, leading to a moving forward approach, rather than stagnating in the status quo.

Whether it is your business model, staffing, finances, capacity or other, it is worth analysing the problem area to gather knowledge, so that you can make informed decisions. This will lead to a judgement based on information, and therefore whether change is needed or not. It might only be a slight adjustment that is needed, but that adjustment may nudge your business into a whole new realm.

Maybe it is time to ask some key questions:

  • Are my staff appropriately trained?

  • Are the patient expectations managed well?

  • Are policies reviewed and followed?

  • Is the model of care in your business appropriate and maximised?

  • Is triage managed well?

  • Are there clear pathways in place?

  • Is claiming managed well?

  • Is capacity managed and maximised?

So the question is, how do you drive the change and take the pain level from 10 to 4? Stop, look, listen and ponder. Think big but start small. Ask for help and plan ahead.

I have been involved and witnessed failing departments with no systems, poor performance and low morale to successful, well performing and motivated staff.

It is proven, it does work, and you can reap the rewards.

Pick one, just one pain point. Focus on it and plan the fix. Get the buy in from the team and support the manager to analyse, implement, monitor and mend.
